Advice For Second RNAT Test From CSIRO

Please note there is an AUD $155.00 surcharge for an overseas submission.
Please ensure your sample/s is serum, not whole blood.
Paperwork that is required to accompany your submission must be included in a document envelope inside your transportation box as well as on the outside of the box.
Samples must be collected by a registered Veterinary Surgeon, who must certify that the health status of the animal complies with the requirements of the import permit for the specimens. Include the certificate in the document envelope enclosed in the box and on the outside of the box.
A copy of our laboratory submission form must be completed and enclosed in the box, and a copy must also be included in the document envelope on the outside of the box. All pets belonging to one owner can be included on the one submission form or can be on separate forms. Please note that AAHL is not part of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service and does not determine the tests required. Therefore the submitter must indicate the tests required on the submission form.
An import permit for the samples is required and this is attached to this email. This should also be document envelope enclosed in the box and on the outside of the box.
We advise where possible you use prepaid courier for delivery of specimens.  An IATA approved Non-infectious biological container (complying with IATA regulation 650) is required to send samples to us for testing. You can either provide your own container or you can purchase one from DGP –Specimen Transport Packaging. The contact for them is Stan Gorr, Phone +61 0419 506 754 or Email Stan_gorr@hotmail.com
We require notice prior to dispatch, and an email or fax copy of the consignment note/speed post docket must be sent to facilitate location of material.
Results are usually available within 10 working days of receipt of the samples.
Our original report will be sent to the Veterinary Practice concerned, and where appropriate a copy will be forwarded to the owner or caretaker of the animal(s).
If you require Rabies Antibody testing, the samples need to be sent to us by Monday. This testing commences on a Tuesday and results are sent out on the following Friday or Monday. Laboratory Testing Fees for the Rabies Antibody Test is AUD $160 with an additional Overseas Surcharge of AUD $155. The total charge is AUD $315.
Other tests for quarantine purposes are also available and are commenced on different days. Please see the AAHL DS Manual that is attached for testing schedules and pricing.
Payment must be made prior to the results being released. A credit card form is attached. This needs to be only enclosed in the box in the document envelope enclosed in the box or can be emailed to us separately.
